I am no stranger to the travel game. As you may remember, I traveled for many years a former skater for the Ice Capades. As of late our Dina Parise Racing team has been traveling buttoning up things regarding the new Cadillac CTSV Pro Mod we are debuting shortly. The team travels extensively on a whole.
I am all for meeting new people and living a bit of a ‘nomadic’ lifestyle. What I tend to not be a fan of is the fact that some no longer have manners. In this day of new technology and first class accommodations, one would think people would not act as if they were reared in a cave. Look, I am not all ‘stuffed shirt’ but to be in a restaurant in a hotel and watch a young man (old enough to know better) try to get served wearing no shoes (but had a hat on) just makes me shake my head. I have lived in hotels for an extended period of time, but I never acted as if the world was my bedroom and the restaurant was my Mom’s kitchen. Next thing you know, he will expect to be ‘tucked in’…. Kind of takes the ‘mint on the pillow’ idea to new heights, huh?
I know the root of the problem here though. We are hot on the heels of the debut of the Cadillac CTSV Pro Mod built by Matheis Race Cars Inc . and this girl certainly has the need for speed! Who wouldn’t want to tear down the Drag Strip in a Cadillac? A beautiful, classy Cadillac CTSV with 3,000 HP. Nope, I can’t find any issues with that! At this point, it’s nose to the grindstone! This DPR team is hard at work getting ready for the debut of this beautiful machine!
During this journey of the Cadillac build, I am finding more and more the need for being myself and not paying attention to what happens around me. Oddly, it has become a bit of a cathartic process. If you pay too much attention to what is being said (good or bad), you will never improve. I’m a believer in the fact that we are constantly evolving and learning. I choose to learn from all the experiences I have in life, and keep the faith! My biggest lessons usually come from ignorance. Ah, yes! It comes in all forms, yet ignorance can be quite educational! I take everything for what it’s worth! This quote from Dan Millman says it all for me! “Faith is the courage to live your life as if everything that happens does so for your highest good and learning. Like it or not.”
On a side note, here are some other projects I have been involved with! I had a great time recently, filming commercial spots for Hamilton Honda in New Jersey. Mike Saporito, is Co-Owner of Hamilton Honda along with New York Giants legends Jessie Armstead and Antonio Pierce. The trio also owns Englewood Cliffs Cadillac as well. When the spot airs, I will post for everyone to see! It’s for sure not what you would expect! Also, we attended a ‘Red Carpet’ event for the upcoming TV series ‘The Familia’. I am honored to be a part of this project! Not only will I have a part in this series, we will be utilizing the Cadillac CTSV Pro Mod as well! What a great opportunity for this DPR team as well as our Marketing Partners!
